Birthday boy and birthday cybercrop....

Hiya and thanks for popping by today:)

There is a bit going on today and this weekend.....

today is my dear hubbys 40th birthday and i couldnt love him any more than i did 22 years ago when we got together....gosh makes us sound so old LOL.

The pic is of my two birthday boys....look how tall leigh is...daz is about 5ft 9" tall.......leigh wears a size 13 shoe!

I have been asked to host a challenge or two over at Scrap Boutique this weekend, we are having A FABULOUS FORTIES theme...you should pop over and see what i have in store for the girls, although i think a few of them are finding my hints a bit tricky:)
But if its any consolation girls i have HEAPS of trouble guessing hints and are so far off the mark its not funny LOL.

We also have show to go to at DD school, they are having one of their two major fundraisers tonight.....it will be some singing and dancing and some story telling followed by a supper with yummies provided by us families...i ran out of time and just ordered slices from where i work and dropped them off this arvo .....

A friend is also having a birthday tonight and they have rung my mobile, i suspect to invite us around for a drinky poo so maybe we might pop over there later...who knows.....have to pick DS up from work at 11 so if we feel up for it we may go over for a bit....

We also had leigh celebrate a birthday this week, hard to believe my firstborn baby was 15! Followed by the next day one of my neices was also 15...then this sunday another neice will turn 12 and on wed another will be 14....argh! Gota love august...not LOL

Ds managed to score pretty well for himslef, the family joined in with us to get him an x box 360...i also picked him up a hoodie and tshirt that went down a treat...he was so rapt with them he couldnt stop hugging me and saying thanks mum its awesome:) So that made me feel good:)

I brought DH a watch for his bday,,,,he is so hard to buy for and mentioned a new watch would be great so thats what we got for him...i also got an itunes voucher for him as he loves his music:)

Well id best be off lots to do and no time to do it as usual.....have a great weekend...we are taking small break from pruning this weekend and are going out on the motorbikes for a ride for a few hours...mr camera will be coming too:)

Chocolate Brown and Blood Red

I needed to update my sheets and pillowcases, with two queen beds and one double in this house now washing day is a nightmare, not to mention all the pillowcases as well.

Anyway last thursday i decided to take myself off to town to check out some new manchester. Now im not fussy and money is an issue here at the moment so i went to cheap as chips. I took Leigh with me as i wanted him to pick a set for himself. sheets and pillowcases. It was really cute cause it took us ages to decide on colours......i needed to get odd pillowcases to and try not to double up on the colours i already had.

After finding a u pillow as well for him we popped to golo to look at covers for them we also picked up a couple extra colours so now most of my linen is colour co ordinated to go with anyting:)

When we got home we made up the beds and he proudly took dad in there later and said dad look ihave some *chocolate brown* sheets and look zoe has *blood red* ones...it was so cute that a nearly 15 year old would care about the colour of his sheets :)

We have had a busy busy time of it here lately.
IN no particular order but to get it down for memory...

* monday ds had braces adjusted...migraine resulted...not alot of sleep
*tues ds slept all day
*wed ds slept all day......had a meeting about superannuation didnt get the kids from grans until 7PM rang hospital about ds...turns out he has a viral infection dont take to hospital, give panadol, fluids and keep checking on him.
*thurs ds felt better and looked better....we went shopping
*fri he went to school......we went to house to tidy up ready for open day on the 16th.
*sat open house finishing touches done......21st not gone too...pruning done.....ds to hockey and work
*sun oh oh ds asleep again...all day
*mon off to drs.....it seems he has a strain of whooping cough that is sometimes called the 100 day cough...must google it

During all of this DD has been a little sweeheart as usual and she spends most of the weekends at her friends house who lives over the back

* she had her high school visit today for her peer support group....oh no...not long til my baby starts high school:(

So all in all bloody hectic here oh and with the open house...not a single person went thru.......i guess i can get upset or i can just go okay....well there is always next weekend *sigh*.......apparantly we are getting a spread in the local newspapaper this week so that should be good.

Okay enough dribble.....no one reads it anyway ( i dont think LOL)

OMG!!!!!! Its now for real!

After many hours of painting, pruning, cleaning and moving along with sadness, tears, and frustration here it is........it truly is real.

We have gone from oh god its so time consuming, lets just get rid of it because we have no time to get it ready, shall we sell it privately, should we sell it to the people who are interested, how much should we sell it for?
How can you put a price on your very first ever home?
How can you put a price on the countless happy hours you have spent watchng your children grow up?
What about the price you put on the sadness of leaving your childrens first dog and cat buried in the *pet cemetary* and what about the 3 chooks and the fish?
Well do you know what, now ive seen it on the internet it really makes me sad because there really is no price you can put on memories like these...they are priceless, and yes i know we now have a price on that but that it to fund all the new memories we are about to make in our new home.

It has already brought us peace of mind, happiness, fun and hard work, and do you know what....we havent regretted it for one moment.....regardless of the fact that we may not have the water needed to grow the crops to pay the mortgage but hey,,,,,,we arent the only ones in that sad boat so we are going to enjoy every second of this new chapter in our lives.

Oh what a day:)

Daz and i took the day off our respective jobs today to catch up on some pruning here on the block. With spring only a month away and alot of pruning not done we needed to pull our fingers out.
We have been slowed doen alot lately by tring to get the old house ready for sale. We have the contract here ready to read and sign for the house ready to go on the market, so that will be very exciting.

Very bittersweet, our very first home that we brought and after 1 week from 10 years we moved out and into this home:)

We had a meeting at the high school today....DS got suspended for two days this week little shit! This came totally out of the blue but to cut a long story short he was sent from the classroom for making an inappropriate comment and because he didnt go to the *blue room* as he felt he had been unfairly treated ( which we encourage by the way, not the comments but standing up for yourself) he then received a suspension........oh well!

He didnt really get into trouble as we werent 100% sure on the issues but as explained to us today basically he should have just gone to the room then come home and told us what had happened and if he needed us to stick up for him then we would have been there with bells on defending our boy:) and gone to find out the reason he had been ent either fairly or unfairly!

So that was an interesting meeting anyway but we believe has learnt from this and he is no longer allowed to sit next to the two boys in class that this all came about through:) Not that there is anything wrong with these boys, that is not the issue, while they ( or he ) is disrupting each other or members in the class then he cant be learning properly!

While pruning we actually got some rain (YAY!!!!) and while we could no longer prune we decided to go into town. Big W has a big DVD sale on........the one thing we like to do when time permits is to watch movies.....
