and as usual i am always all fired up to eat healthily (which we do usually) get more organised, stop procrastinating....thats why last years tax has not been done yet.....but as a rule i dont make new years resolutions because i feel it is just setting myself up for failure.
Dont get me wrong, hey if you would like to give yourself some direction, and boy who of us can never have enough direction LOL then all the better and go for it.
Lots of things have happened in our lives lately and i have not had the strenght or energy to talk about it or share with anyone too much.
I am a quiet soul who shares very little with little few people:) I feel my family is my family and i dont like to bother people about my life...but i do have two girls who know all about us and me and never ever judge and for that i love you guysxx
Well where should i start to fill you in kinda briefly.
Oh by the way this is not a new years resolution to blog more either.....my life has changed and i no longer feel like scrapbooking anymore...i have lots of albums here that really i only look at, and yes i know it is for me and others peoples opinions dont matter but i cannot get past the fact that i have spent so much money on something that is getting hidden in the cupboards.
I am also trying to simplify our lives....have you even been swamped with the realisation that all the shit made to make your life easier just increases the stress at times just when you dont need it......even computers......mine has not been attatched to my hip like it used to be at one stage and for that i am happy because it frees me up to read and sew.
Yes i am going back to where i came from. I have always loved to read and i used to sew the kids clothes all the time and when they chose not to wear what mummy made anymore well i kinda jsut gave it up.
I have decided to start a quilt for myself and it is for a very special reason. I have a really old armchair here that was darrels grannys, she passed away nearly 2 years ago, well i want to restore her chair (or get someone to do it for me) and make a quilt for me in my fave colours so i can have a lamp in the corner of my bedroom and sit and read to my hearts content.
You see, my kids are growing up, life is moving on and i am worried that there will be a big hole in my life where my kids filled and i wont have done anything for myself. Joking......no i am sure you know what i mean:)
Master 16yo has a girlfriend and they have been going out since May 2009. Funnily enough they both have been to kindy and school all through their lives with no interest until May...isnt it funny how that works??
Miz 14yo also has a boyfriend who happens to be born the same day as her brother lives not far from here and she seems madly in hmmmm love, friendship not sure what you call it but it is cute to see. Scary too though!
Our fruit came in about 2 weeks early all round this year which has been fantastic, it means the apricots we usually pick from the 14 january we are currently picking and our season has been alot shorter. Less stressful in a way and we have been able to pace ourselves a little better.
We are taking a day off soon as a family to go for a day trip to Mildura. Leigh needs to get hours up....yes he is driving, he is going for his Ps in Feb and he is currently working on a car to get it up and running for *when he gets his P's* he has a car to drive!
DH and i celebrate 21 years of marriage this April, boy where did that time go!!
He has had a huge year too, apart form running our 17 acres and working fulltime he achieved a "Diploma in Horticulture" this came through the Recognition of Prior Learning studies people are able to do to get certificates and training. Im so proud of him...it makes the 21 years of learning and his knowledge all the more worthwhile, some things you just cannot put a price on.
It was also lovely of his company to recognise his 21 years of service with then. They handed out a list of suppliers where you could choose to get a voucher from as a gift from the company. I talked him into getting one from a clothes store......a trendy surf and street wear shop and it turns out he got a $300 voucher to spend on clothes......some of the others are spewing they chose places like Mitre 10. Not that there is anything wrong with that but when you can go buy what you need when you need it the re is no need to chose from there:) He is so happy he can now go clothes shopping.
In other news, since we have been so busy with our lives we have decided to sell our two boats and just buy one dinghy but a big enough one that we can wakeboard behind as well. It looks like we have sold the small dinghy yeeha!
Oh oh nearly forgot. Leigh was commissioned to help design a mural for the council for the public library. He and the guy who asked him to help designed some filmstrips and they decided which they liked better and have painted them on a wall in the library...it looks freakin awesome...and leigh got his name on it so there is some recognition for his talent as well....he is so fantastic at drawing, i suggested he become a tattoo artist:)
He has had a few blows dealt to him this year...consequently he is undecided about being a graphic artist and did change his focus to diesel mechanic or builder.
His building projects he did at school were bloody brilliant, he made an entertainment unit for himself, a stool and a coffee table for us:)
He is looking to do a school based apprenticeship but he needs to find some one in the fields he is interested in to want to take on somebody for two days per week for the year. The employer will get reimbursed and leigh will get paid so it would be a win win all round so we have to wait and see which way he is going to go i guess.
Well i might stop here...i dont think many people pop by my blog...however i do have a big bag here or scrappy stuff to give away so if anyone is in the mood to receive a RAK of scrap goodies leave a comment and i will send it to the first person who leaves a message with the workRAK in it somewhere:)
Have a fantastic 2010 and i hope that life is good to you...if you had a crappy 2009 well lets hope that the rounding off to 2 10 rounds off your crappy year as well.
Seeya when im looking at ya!
