Should have done this post first LOL

The first pic is one of our pear trees and as you can see they had quite alot of fruit on them...all in all it has been a good year for the pears.

Second Pc is Dh on the afron picking the tops of the trees, these bigger trees were here before MIL brought the property on 1956...so they are very old trees.

Pic three are pears in *sweat boxes* after coming out of the coolroom. We pick them green, they go into the coolroom for 7 days and then sit in the shed for another 7-10 days to ripen.

Pic four is a stack of trays cut and ready to be put into the sulphur tent to be sulphured.
They get about 72 hours of sitting in our sulphur tent and being sulphured then we stack them singularly on pallets....see how there are two trays side by side,,,well we will split them and put just one stack (of 25) per new pallet. So instead of one stack of 50 on one pallet there will be two stacks of 25 on two pallets)

Okay i shall post them and then title them after:)

Wow that worked! Thankyou to Zoe for being the model here:)

We use a triangular shaped knife as you can see. You put the pear with the calyx towards you...(the end bit) put your hands on either side of the pear and push down and away from you slightly very gently.

The calyx part falls into the bucket to be thrown later and you place the pear on the tray which we work on in stacks...

You need to be careful as the knives are very sharp and many a time you get skun oh so very slightly but it stings like mad!

Am going to post again about the picking bit of it...stay tuned and i shall see if blogger will play now!

We are in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been at the new house for one week today and how fast has that gone!

We have been SO busy im not even going to try to recap what we have been up to.

I will however post some pics but these were taken before we moved in and i shall post new ones shortly as i go:)

The kids have been amazing, DH is absolutley loving this place and i find myself smiling at odd moments when i see him on the tractor or the kids driving around in their ute:)

And as for myself, i too am happy, i am implementing a no junk, and clean up as you go policy at this house and it is working! It includes telling DH to pick up the bath mat and hang it just so LOL.....well it is me that has to do it other wise and he may as well learn how i want it done haha.

DH and i went to the old house on Monday to get some more stuff and u fortunately found four of our five pet chickens dead:( Some dog had gotten in to the yard and killed them,,,,,to say we were upset was an understatement!

The survivor is here and she is doing very well.....and actually she has company! DS and friend brought *frederick* home for her as company. He is the ugliest chicken....and im betting it will be a rooster, he just has that look about him LOL...i must take photos of him. He is soon to be very tame!

The boys are building their pen at the moment. DD has a friend visiting and i have taken 5 mins as i have been on the go since 7.15 this morning...that job was scrubing floor tiles by hand:) Easier than using the mop and i wanted to see if the brown was part of the tile or not.....ummm nope it wasnt LOL

Anyway im going to go for now have to drop the friend home andorganise some tea i guess....im very tired i would love to scrap but all my stuff and i mean ALL of it is in the shed...and my scrap room is full of crap...need to do a fair bit of sorting out before i can get into my room:)

I also have my sister and her 5 kids coming tommorrow so i wanted to do some baking to feed the hungry hoards...not much food at this place at the moment:)

Busy week coming up!

Monday worked from 7.30 to 1.30 early knock off. Picked up DD from friends house. Visited Scrap shop, i needed some photo squares.,,,,,,im making some 6x6 pages for a project by Julie Stone....Off t visit granny at the hostel, home to get DS then off to the block t cut pears,,,,after that off to woolies for some chockie heehee home for tea dishes bed soon:)

Tues DH has a conference he has to speak at tommorrow for *arrive home alive* he has to talk aboutthe accident in which he broke his hip and his views, the families view and how we all coped with his hospital stay and life after he arrived home.
The diary i kept at the time was very insightful reading it back and they have used it as part of the project. HE has to talk in front of like 150 people and he is so nervous...poor baby!

Wed DS is off to his Airbrushing course, it is progressive and continues on from last years....he really loves it and has talked about it being a job for him later on so any experience is a good thing. He at the moment is passing his resume around town as he is looking for work.

Thurs is our audit day,,,,,,so before this we have to getback tothe block and tidy things up and make sure everything is shipshape...bit hard when you are in the middle of cutting fruit.
I have to be at work at 6.45am this day and will be working until 5pm! *Yawn* LOL

Fri i start at 6.45am again but finish at about 2.30 so that will be nice.

And all of this is a brief outline...we are also hoping to sign the bank papers and really begin to start packing.

Im a little superstitious and am not game enough to start packing too much stuff yet!

Broadband gets turned off on thurs too ready for the move so i wont be travelling cyberspace very fast so it is likely that i wont be about much.,......but no one will miss me i am sure of that!

For the girls i promised the pear pics to, i have taken some and if i can get 5 mins i shall upload them here for you to peruse:)

Getting ready!

This weekend we have been quite busy. On saturday we went to the block and picked three bins of pears. Tidied up all the fruit that was left in the shed ready to be taken into Angas Park for processing.

Cleaned out the shed a little and gave it a bit of a tidy up all round. In the afternoon we came home and cleaned up the house, this included a little bit of packing.

Im still scared because the bank manager didnt manage to get back to us on friday as he was sick so we are still in limbo really as to whether or not we move....

Darrel keeps telling me that we are but im still scared we wont be able to afford the repayments and will have to live on mince and bread for the next 30 years LOL.......

I am afraid that i cannot get excited until we actually sign the papers and really sign our lives away hahaha. Silly huh!!!

Anyway we will know for sure this week. And i am also scared of letting the owners down and not being able to go through with it all.

Never mind....

Well sunday has proven to be a busy day.......i dont know how blogger will upload my photos so i shall do that first and preview my post the tell you about the photos.....

Okay top two are out near the outside dunny which we have gotten ready to paint, inside already painted, we have eede all along the fenceline.

Next two pics are our new house, they are using it as dining we will use as lounge area:) And continuing along from the chook yard, these are all our fruit trees, nectarines and peaches.

The pic with the blue drum in it is the chook yard, that got all cleaned out today as we are expecting 4 new additions to our pen...making total chicken tally to 9!

The next photos are of the front garden where there used to be roses but they have died. We are going to lay bark chips arund the whole garden before we leave and crusher dust out the front driveway:)

Next we played with *Shelley* she is he funniest bird...she has three balls with bells inside then in her cage and she spends alot of time chucking them in and out of her water and feed bowls.....well now you can put your hand in her cage and ask her to play soccer and she will hrow the balls to you or come and grab them and throw them about her cage....and TALK!!!!!! omgosh....she whistles chatters and cheeps all day long......so cute.

The last photo is dedicated to the moving of the tank. We had it on the other end of the shed but decided it would be better in the yard so we moved it around and will set it all up.

Here where we live we are not on town water and each year you have to divert to tanks for all your water needs while the system shuts down for maintenance for a week.

We also went around the outside of the house and hammered in more clouts to the hardi plank and are in the process of no more gapping ready to paint, how exciting....we have chosen our colours for the outside and a friend who is a painter by trade has offered to get the paint at cost price for us so that is pretty awesome of him:) We were pretty chuffed about that. We save quite alot of money that way .

I have started packing just a few things...like the dvd and video collections.

I was perusing Ebay last night and have bidded on an xbox for the kids, theirs has died anyway while there i got to searching and i have so much junk here to get rid off im wondering if i would get more for it on Ebay rather than a garage sale.....eg i have a dressmakers dummy here and they are going for about the $50 mark...hey id be happy to get that for it:)

I have kids wetsuits here i can sell, books, oh gosh all sorts of stuff!

Im keeping a mental list of things to sell at garage sale, things to give away, things to chuck. Oh i have heaps of For Keeps and some other scrapping mags im thinking of listing in lots of 8 i can get them in a $9.30 post bag.....any takers????

They are all in fantastic condition and i just wont have the room in my new place at all for them Boo hoo!!!!

On a sad note, it was two years ago yesterday since my sister lost her partner to snakebite. She rang me yesterday and we had a chat, she did mention it in passing i had said that i did remember.....the kids didnt rememeber, as kids dont...the two youngest ones (his) certainly didnt remember.....one was 7 and the other 4 when he passed away.

She is in a new relationship now and all is going well..the kids have settled well into city life and although they *apparantly* lol miss us they have settled in really well. Im hoping if we do move they can come for a visit:)

Okay this post has turned enormous and im sorry for that but i wanted to get alot of stuff down at the moment. Trying to capture feelings and thoughts about the move......i am really eager and determined to make it work......i told my dad and mother in law and their reactions were very discouraging......one said *oh Christ, why?* and the other just didnt seem to enthused........:(

So i for one are going to damn well prove em wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUGGER BLOGGER HAS CHANGED THE PHOTO ORDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is official!

Just a tease pic...this is my new kitchen:)

We are moving into our new house......OMG i cannot believe it.

We spoke to the owners last night and they gave us 2 dates either the 14th or 28th March, which is really funny because we moved into this house on the 22nd March 10 years ago!!!

We were talking about it last night and it seems that our life runs in cycles of 10 years.

Oh my there is SO MUCH to do...painting the inside and outside of this place, fixing up everything, getting an agent in to list it..our plan is to move and then paint here so there is nothing we have to move about or trip over in the house.......

We will be able to move some of our stuff to our block (which for those of you who dont know is the neighbouring property) We have 2 big containers, the kinds that go on the back of a semi trailer...that we can lock stuff in until we actually need it.

Oh my....i could hardly sleep last night for thinking about it...no second thoughts but still a nerve wracking night....oh its all going to be good!!!!

So unsure????

Okay a quick update...the house we want has actually dropped in price.....now the original price was a big issue but we are thinking we need to sell this house to be able to buy at this new price...that will give us about half of what we need now the big question is

DO WE REALLY WANT TO MOVE!!!!!

Heres the deal.....we will have our house paid out in approx 3 years and we will be debt free totally.......do we bank our current mortgage payments after that and just build a house on our block....(which will be a neighbour to the new house anyway )

Or do we bite the bullet and just go for it??????????????????????????????

We are so unsure...although in todays economic climate staying here might be the best idea.....

well with conditions!! That is...

For those of you who dont know what i am talking about.....we have a 10 acre fruitblock which is a 6km drive from home, to do any work there we need to travel, this means packing up hats, sunscreen, food, drinks, kids, toys, and 100 other things to go there. Then you may also get I DONT WANNA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this from the kids...anyway i digress

Next door to this property like adjoining it, like stuck right next door, like share a driveway next door is this property! It has a lovely home which i have admired for many years and we told the owner a few years ago if they ever wantd to sell to please give us first notice,,,,well the other day they did!

I have yet to see inside this house but i saw some photos taken fom dazs phone it is a lovely home inside and i will move there in a flash!!!! Has what i want so far. Three way bathroom, ensuite,inside laundrey, lovely kitchen, tiled floors.....
So many questions but hopingto see inside on friday or saturday.

Anyway we have to do some researching about whether or not we can afford to buy it and the like.

After emailing our bank manager giving him the bare bones of the story he said that we have sufficient security to be able to borrow the whole total and costs incurred and he has no doubt that we can make the repayments needed YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All we need to do is get our tax done (LOL) and take in our block one and our personal ones to further discuss what needs doing....

There are only two negatives we can see and they are with the current water restrictions will we have water to grow our crops? and the price is more than we expected!

Later i shall talk more about our everyday musings,,,, and muse we do,,,,there are SO many positives and at this stage without having seen inside the house you know it just feels right. I cant explain it...im not scared or worried just excited and cant wait to get all the balls moving.

We are closer to town, the high school (for leigh and after this year both the kids can ride their bikes to high school), we are close to grans, the skate park, bike track everything.

Leigh is so hanging to go he wants to earn money and being at the block we can go do what needs doing whenever we want to.

If we feel like scrapeing some trays of fruit or want to desucker some trees or just tidy up and move stuff well we can. We can walk the property for exercise like we used to do in Nangiloc...we can walk to the fruit and veg man every nite if we want....there are these and so many more reasons we want to go...

We will rent out this house,we only have 3.5 yrs left on this house. It was a 25yr loan and we have been here for not quite 10 years, so we are a fair way in front:)
We will need to go thru this house with a fine toothed comb to get it spot on for reting,daz wants it *bulletproof*,,,i call it idiot proof. Ive already spoken to the rental agency to find out what we need to do to get it all ready.

We will paint everything before we go,,,goodbye gorgeous suede hallway walls, zoes bedroom is like a musk lifesaver colour...yummy...never mind there are plenty of walls to paint at he new house LOL

Ummm we are starting already to cull stuff and we will have a big garage sale before we move so we dont have to cart stuff we dont need to...

The new house only has like 3 bedrooms and an office...so that will have to become my craft room and trying to cram 3 bedrooms, a study and a craft room into 4 rooms is going to be a struggle, hence the garage sale:)

The kitchen lounge and dining area i think is huge, we may be able to pop the kids computer at the end of the living area and they may just have to have a small tv in their room rather than their shared computer/tv room.

The bedrooms are small with builtins but im willing to sacrifice that room as they will only sleep there...but the main and ensuite is big i believe and there is a walk in robe ( could become our business office with the laptop and a printer on a small desk in there???)

Anyway i am waffling and i guess i should go...

New Years Day

Hi im back......

I forgot to mention that i have had a hair cut.....i now have nearly no hair:)
I work in the food industry and my hair was getting long enough to be pulled back...i hate doing that so i bit the bullet and decided to cut it all off......am attatching a pic, not that you can really tell though.

We had a really quiet NYE....we went and got some movies to watch but not before a major scare with the bank.
Daz had gone to get some fuel for the boat so we could go out in it this morning, he rang me on the way into town to tell me that neither of his cards worked and he couldnt get any money let alone pay for the fuel he had put into the jerry can.

Fast forward to me absolutely packing it because in the morning i had a popup on the computer saying something was accessing and all my files could be in danger yadda yadda yadda and i was panicking to the max!!!!!! Anyway after getting home going to the bank site then ringing them it turns out that they have been having trouble with mastercards not working. The guy daz spoke to suggested going to the bank and withdrawing some cash...that worked and when he went back to woolies it turned out their systems were down!

In all of this all i could think of was someone stealing all our money and not having any money for food or anything....very scary and poor daz was petrified he has never had that happen before.
Alls well that ends well though...phew!

Movie wise we got The Bourne Ultimatum......good action flick as always but a bit unbelievable...i mean how many car crashes can you walk away from....good in spite of.
Shrek the 3rd...hmmmm not as good as 1 or 2 but will watch again my opinion may change.
Last of all, Meet the Robinsons.....okay as a kids flick but as i didnt see it all it would be unfair to comment but will once i have watched it.

In other musings.....we were at the block the other day and daz had aske leigh to move the ute (he has been driving since he was 10) i was sitting in the passenger seat and leigh had to reverse, he is SO gorgeous my heart just swells so much.....he turns around and puts his hand on theback of my seat so he can see where he is going,,,is that just a boy thing? Anyway i just smiled and he sad what mum? I just grinned at him and i had tears in my eyes,,,,i said you are my baby, you arent supposed to be driving waaahhhhhh!!!!!! LOL.

My little girl is sitting here with me and she says mum do you shave your knee caps and i said yes.....she says im glad cause that means im not the only one.....LOL yep she is sitting her with her foot in a bucket shaving her legs with her OWN razor......she was 12 in Nov!!!

Its shocking they just grow so darn quick.....and last night we were sitting outside jsut chatting and i learnt some facts of life from my kids that i didnt think they should know yet LOL hmmmm what an eye opener that ws...my gosh.

A friend and i had just been chatting that mornign about did we think our children were more or less mature than us a t the same age......well i had said definately Leigh is more mature...and then after this conversation I was proven to be correct (lol unfortunately)

Lets just say i was the last to know this information, even zoe was told before me LOL Im just glad we can talk about sex and anything:) Lucky arent I? Then there are other times i just want to give him a smack cause he drivesme nuts! Unfortunately Leigh and I are VERY similar~we know how o press each others buttons big time!

Hmm this is turning into a long post but i also want to get feelings down not just what we have done.

What weve been up too

We have been busy like everyone else through the Christmas rush season.

We have been fortunate that our apricots have arrived early and thankfully finished early. It has allowed us to spend some much needed time together as a family.

We went camping over night on Thursday and had a relaxing time. As you can see from the photo there is water in the Murray River.....i am back at work on Wed and am so not looking forwar to it! LOL. I want more time here with the kids and i would love to get stuck into my house.

I really want to declutter everything!

I am feeling so positive this year,...okay i know it hasnt finished yet but i am looking forward to getting back to the gym and getting into eating healthier,,,,,not that we eat alot of junk, its more a restructuring of the kids eating habits.

I want to encourage healthy snacks.....

We had a very quiet christmas at MIL place. SIL was there and granny, after we had nibbles there we went home and just hung out......the kids were spoilt, they got a nintendo DS for dd and some games, ds received a PSP and some games. They also received some money and zoe a bracelet as well as some DVDs.

Daz got an ipod and ds made us both a pencil case in home ec at school,,,,,he received A's for that subject and we were so pleased.

I received a necklace and earrings from Zoe and the pencil case from leigh i also went to my lss and got some goodies ( a very small bag worth :)) as well as a couple of dvds myself

It has been a productive year tis year and i am looking forward to what 2008 has to offer us as a familyxxx

Merry Christmas to all

Im back briefly, we have had a fun packed week with the neics here.

Weve picked and cut apricots, ben shopping, been 10 pin bowling which was lots of fun, caught in a downpour (it ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) pours here in december, especally when the fruit is out on the drying green, you can bet your life on it....so three of us raced 30 kms toget the fruit inside before it rained the other day,,,luckily we did cause we got 12mm that day :)!

We are expecting more rain today and have had some already, they are predicting 10-40mm.....

We are hoping to sneak out in the boat for a couple of hours between showers:) We are also expecting another addition to our family in the shape of a girlfriends child from Adelaide for a few days,,,,she is a good kid and between the five of them hopefully there will be lots of fun to be had! And no fights LOL who am i kidding right:)

The neices will go home on sunday and iz goes on Monday sometime

The gift shopping is all completed and just needs wrapping. We re going o visit mil and granny for Xmas this year...mil is not well and is not coping but we decided just to go for morning tea of coffee and pudding or something and that will be our xmas...a little disapointing but we really dont do much else anyway, if its nice we will probably take the boat out on the river.

Oay just a quick one so im now off for a little surf, i havent even turned my computer on since sunday and it is now friday:) Has to be a record!

A quick five minute breather...literally

Okay the pagent went off extrememly well and i got some lovely photos which i will share some of when i have time.

We got home from there at about 8.45.

I had my xmas work party the night before and got home at about 10.30 which is late for me....hence a very tired girl who had to be at work by 7.30 Fri.



Sat i worked again from 7.15 until 3pm....then went out and picked apricots.



Sunay we spent the whole day at the block frome 8am untl 5.30. We managed to prove a pint to our children, we ended up cutting over 200 trays, which is average for a 6 hr day however our children spent alot of the day with the machine not running but their mouths were LOL.

We proved that you can actually cut one stack of apricots, which is 50 trays in just over 1 hour.....not over 2 hours....



Anyway point made and taken heehee, we sure got a spark out of Leigh that much i can say for sure.



SO that brings us to today...work from 7.30 til 3pm then i spent the next 2 hours hunting for a gift for Zoe...anyone know where i can get an ice blue nintendo DS lite from????????



Tonight we picked up a mate of Leighs who is going to help us cut tommorrow, w got home at about quarter past 8...te is home made pizza,,,yummy and ive had my shower and im sitting here waiting for the oven buzzer to go off:)

Well tea was nice, my computer just decided to do an update and one hour later i am back...but im going to bed now cause it is now 9.37pm

It has officially begun......

The silly season for us that is.......

Last night was the first night of beginning to pick our fruit for cutting and drying....

for those of you who dont know, we have a 10 acre fruit property on which we grow many varieties of fruit however with the severe water restrictions we have actually cut down trees and turned the water off that goes to some of our fruit.

Anyway the fruit has decided to start about 2 weeks early this year and going by the size of it we are going to have some great sized fruit. Daz thinks having to go to dripper irrigation has been the best thing for our fruit.

I worked until 5.30 and the family were already at the block by the time i ha gotten there and had started picking....we got home about 8.15, had a quick tea (which i had par readied that morning, lots of that going to happen now LOL)

My sister rang confirming if another neice can catch a ride back with us when we pick up the other two girls, and at the risk of tkaing two cars, (if i dont wnat to go by myself :)) w said yes okay but that will all work out in the end im not going to start stressing now.

I also volunteered to sew some fluffy stuff onto the cloaks for the king and queen for the pagent so about half past ten was bed time......

So a really short post today just to get some stuff down. Not sure when i shall return...have a great hoilday season and take care

just a quick catch up....last night zoe and i went to a friends place...we are working on a float for he local pagent....we have an awesome idea we have now completed everything we think, all bar decorating the trailer which will be done next friday.

I will take lots of photos as i have been dubbed the photographer LOL...and im looking forward to it.

We have laid some cement for our new sulphur tent at the block...with out this we cant dry our apricots.....photos to be taken yet.

Work has just flown by this week...i cannot believe where the time has gone.

My Christmas shopping is completed all bar the kids......they are talking (well DS) is talking PS3...yeah right...or Xbox 360...double yeah....zoe wants a nintendo DS ....dh says yeah!!! he has issues with how small it is and zoe is not the most organised child about.....she also asked for a portable DVD player...may be doable we will see.

This is the reason i hate Christmas, it should be banned...i have half been thinking maybe we have big Birthdays for the kids and very small Xmas!!!

Im lounging in my bed typing this at the moment...yay for broadband...its so exciting.

Zoe goes for her orthodontist check up when Leigh goes for his next adjustment...she needs them too.....between the two of them we are going to be broke for a while....esp making two payments each month!!! It will be well over a weeks pay each time....not that im complaining.....the difference it has made to leigh is amazing......must get some pics. The ortho said his teeth are where he wants them already and he is further ahead than expeced...whether that means having them off earlier or not im not sure.

Am supposed to have two neicesc ome from Adel in the holidays to help us with the fruit so they can earn some pocket money...have to make plans on how to get them here,,,,,

Have had issues with DD at the moment with her food.....she is eating LOTS OF JUNK.....went on camp spent birhtday money on lollies and crap...i hate it and she isnt learning so for this last week my good from (hi nise) suggested i make her a little plate of snacks for after school and its working a treat then she doesnt seem to pick after tea as much.

Yesterday i picked her up from school and she asked where her snacks were....quite sad, so when i said you make m a coffee and i will make your snack i got a gorgeous little squeal of happiness...who would have thought huh:)

Hello and welcome back......:)

Ive been around but so much has been happening that ive just not wanted to bother getting out the computer and fight with it to postor do anything much actually.
Just a few things that happened in our hous lately,,,

We have broadband...how cool is that! Im loving it...hopefully it means less time on the puter cause i visit the sites i want and then i go.......? We shall see LOL

Zoe got her first ever big smack the other day......she took money from my purse and was all set to let Leigh and daddy take the blame until i asked her what the lady at the shop would say if i asked if she had been in with money,,,,,needless to say we found out she had taken another bit of money too,,,,not much but the disappointing part is that she lied as welll.....we are very disappointed in her because my mother is a liar and a theif and a B%^(*h,,,i will not stand for my kids to do it as well.....i despise lying and theiving....any help and thoughts appreciated here gals...:(

She went off to camp on Thursday (on her birthday) she is now a big 12 year old.......i told her she looked like she had grown while away on camp LOL.

My brother managed to catch up with her while she was away...they went to Mildura....

Umm work has changed....i have new shifts now...its nice to kow exactly where you are and at what time.....im hoping to use the new roster to my advantage in the respects of getting my house and life in orer...LOL,,,eg shop on thursdays...cause i start at 12....

Leigh is doing well, however last weekend he went to the pool...i told him to take his suntop...yep mum,,,,but did he wear it NOPE so who got badly burnt and we all suffered from his whinging!!!!!!!!! Not happy Jan i told him serves you right as you deliberately disobeyed me....so lets hope he learns...we've certainly been rubbing it in at every chance we get......

Daz goes to the gym every day.......i go 3 or 4 times a week a but he puts me to shame...thats another thing working out well for me....i gym on mon and fri arvo and the other mornings...( i did 5 days last week:))

He has been so busy at work and it worries me....he went to work at 4.30 a few mornings to do water.....(less evaporation) like hello when is this guy supposed to sleep and see his family cause he doesnt get home til after 6pm sometimes later....

Our season is coming up soon and Daz informs me we are going to be early...hmmm early all fruit or early just for some varieties and then the darn season drags out for so bloody long you feel like its been going forever...not happy...i wish we could sell it...im so over it now......

What else.... not alot i guess just trying to get into gear and get thru one day at a time.....ive done a wee bit of scrapping over the last couple of months...i didnt even feel like doing that...god forbid im getting bored with it.....it just seems like such a competition and i hate competing cause i lack badly...well thats how i feel anyway......dont get me wrong...i love the challenges (if i do them for myself) i love looking at other peoples work....oh maybe im just tired LOL

I did do a few really quick and simple ones and i am happy how they turned out....maybe i will show them maybe not:)

Okay time i went.....house work is calling and i think we have to go to the block today to build a new suplhur tent......the sstorm in Jan threw the other one around and broke it so now we have to build one...other wise we cant sulphur our fruit.....stay tuned i will post pics of what we do duringour sesaon time.......

Nothing to report

Hmmm well here i sit, in my nice warm bed DH is away for the night and my back is sore so i thought id pop into my bed and rest my back.....im not sure what i have done with it but im off to the chiros on wed after work.



Bullet point whats been happening here.



We went away to the hills and goolwa the other weekend and had an absolute BALL...it rained most of the time but did we care??? NOPE definately not.



We did lots of shopping, i got some work clothes, leigh got some more trackies for school and zoe and i hit JAy Jays for some really cool clothes.....i am FAR from a fashionista but im so sick of the boring long sleeved ts i wear so i lashed out and brought a couple of long lace cami things and two t shirts so i can do the *layering* thing....looks great too....im so self consious of my body but since hitting the gym it has given me so much self confidence in myself and i want to experiment more....i still need a trusted friend to tell me honestly what things look ok:)



The kids had fun on the beach with Bri and Issy lots of photos there but i havent even looked at them yet.



I got a polarising lens and a clear lens cover for my other lens from Adelaide while there....got a good bargain too i thought.



Leigh wagged school last tuesday and what is worse than getting caught wagging........??????????

we tried to get him to see the error of his ways and he is so easy to guilt that we HOPE we have gotten throught o him....little bugger LOL



Ummmm zoe has been horse riding a couple of times lately and she is loving it......she *accidentally cantered* tonight and my heart jumped into my throat....



Work is busy,my shifts are going to change soon................set hours for the week,,,yay no more confusion of late week or early week.



Leigh has been getting bad headaches lately,,,,,,he sometimes gets one while getting his braces adjusted....he turns so white and has an immediate headache......well he has had two in the last two days with no adjusting...im hoping its nothing serious but im wondering if it could be migraines??

Would anybody know?? Maybe it coud be stress too i guess........im planning on ringing the orthodontist and asking his opinion about it and see what he can suggest.......i would like for Leigh to be able to take panandol at school for this but apparantly they arent allowed to have it.....im going to look into it.....a couple of panadol and and hour or so of rest usually does him......



We had the most welcome rain over the weekend...we got about 7mm at the block which is far better than nothing:)



Im sure i have lots more to rave about but my mind has gone blank........i dont know how many people actually read this drivel.....



Okay im off for a little surf before lights out and bed....

wow 10 days gone already!

Well hi there guys....alot has happened but not much if you know what i mean......as you may have read in the last post Leigh went to Streaky Bay with his cousin and their family. They were kind enough to invite him to go with them.


It was the slowest week ever, i SO missed my baby boy. I think what made it worse was that there was an accident that claimed the lives of two boys a 15yo and a 17yo.......i guess i just wanted my baby to hug and tell i love him. Leigh knew both the boys and i was worried about how he would take the news it turned out that they were told while away.


My heart truly goes out to the families of these boys...one was a nephew to a friend:(
I cannot even imagine the sorrow and sadness they will be feeling.

Zoe turned out to have quite an eventful week last week of the holidays.....she went to grans for a couple of the days, they went shopping, her auntie took her to the library and the op shop and second hand shop where she found some cool stuff.....i though some of it left a bit to be desired but the main thing is that she loves the white polo shirt with black polka dots all over it and the electric blue bow tie someone made (it looks like part of a dance costume) but she was rapt so the happiness on her face was good enough for me.


I havent really had time to get on the computer let alone update my blog so it is going to be higgledy piggledy a bit ike me im guessing LOL.

My sister came for a day visit on Sunday with three of her kids and her new man. He seems like
a nice guy. The kids seemed quite happy although Brendan was a little clingy which surprised me little cause he generally loves us alot :) No big heads here.


Unfortunately i got sunburnt while she was here it was such a gorgeous day and we sat outside under the almond tree...i am so annoyed with myself...i am usually so careful about the sun and sunscreen...grrr!


Friday night Darrel Zoe and i went out for tea with two girls from work....they asked me to go out with them but it was too hard....long story what with Zoes hockey breakup that was (we thought) going to be fri nite and daz having a bbq fri night well it turned out breakup was for lunchtime....MAD rush to get zoe there after hearing it started at 12and this was 12.45.....she ended up going to the movies with some of the girls and they saw Rat-a-too-ee.....LOL she said it was great!


I went to my LSS expecting to work on sat and after discovering Belinda and i had messed up...i stayed to keep her company...after coming home to get some of my albums for her to have a look at.....she was heading off with Mardi for a weekend away.....you lucky girls...LOL...im hoping you will keep to the offer of coming to scrap with Mardi at your house B!!:)


You know B i went home all inspired to scrap and to my horror i had no tabs or any adhesives to stick anything down with argh!! Zoe must have used what i had left and didnt tell me.....little monkey! I had to spend some time sewing that cute little card you inspired me to make for my friend...thanks B!

Hmmm well off the top of my head i cant think of anything to keep you glued here for much longer so i might say gday and catch ya later....

Lucky Opportunity

Tonight while eating tea our phone rang and it was one of Leighs cousins (by marriage but they call themselves cousins) and he has invited Leigh to go with him and his family to Port Pirie and later travelling on to Streaky Bay.

Now for a very over protective mum we have let him go as he was so excited....he is going to be gone for a whole 7 days......apart from a Sports week away (about 4-5 days) he nor zoe have been away from us so long.

We were quite pleased for him to have te opportunity to go...so off we flew to Golo to buy up big on lots of junk food.......with 4 boys going they are going to need lots for food for energy LOL.....then away we went to drop him off.....

Im a little nervous and Zoe is sure going to miss him through the week of the holidays......she will have to spend some time with granny and maybe she can visit with her uncle and aunt as well cause i have to work.....she can probably go to work with daddy one day im sure we can keep her sorted out :)

Now not much else has been happening here.....ive been working as usual and not much else really, have been wasting time surfing on the net when i could be doing something else more constuctive LOL....

I went to the library on Wed as i have been hanging for a decent book or two to read,,,i managed to walk out with a pile of 7.

Anyway short swet sharp and boring but thats it for now....

We are Upset!

Saturday night we came home from shopping to see Leigh on the computer but obviously quite upset....

he has been on Ebuddy which his friends use to chat on on the net....any way here are two of his cousins whom he invited to his party, one ex friend (boyfriend to one girl cousin) and one of his friends from his party at the ex friends place and they were RIPPING MY BOY APART IN THE CONVERSATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read what he had written thinking that maybe something was said to start this tirade but as you can see what has been written in that conversation he had only said two things,,,,why are you shouting at me and why.....

Now these kids are 13 and 14 and the rotten revolting gross things spilling onto the computer screen were absolutley VILE...we had three of these children in our home only last saturday and to see what they were saying a week later absolutely boggles the mind.......some of these words and phrases i have honestly never even heard of and the contortionistic positions my son was supposed to get into well.....the imagination boggles...

I just really wanted to rant and vent about this.....it has afffected Leigh quite badly as he has no idea what he has supposed to have done...if anything and one particular thing that was said came from the boy that was at the party because the other two girls were out on the road....remember from my other post darrel went to get them as they wouldnt listen to Leigh.....this boy was at the ex friends house feeding him this info.......

I am so discusted, disappointed and angry, where were the parents....we couldnt save the conversation as we couldnt work out how to........it is in a window by itself and wont let you copy and paste it...

I couldnt approach the parents as one is my step sister and who would believe us anyway, also these kids would attack Leigh even more.....we have spoken in great depth and he is not to talk to them on the computer or the phone......these girls rang leigh all the time to just chat and shoot the breeze and to be hurt so badly.......

Daz had just been saying the other day that they are doing courses at work and such things covered include character...one of the quotes he passed along was you can tell if someone has good character by the way they act when they think that no one is watching........well these little people have no character at all if their parents knew what they had been up to (i know i would be) they would be shocked to the core.

Enough of this im agitated again...its the unfairness of not being able to stick up for your kid that really bites:(

So this weekend has been kinda low key.....we went out to the local markets yesterday just for a drive and to check them out as we had never been before.....lots of jewellery and wooden bread boxes ect, that kind of thing.

We stopped and had some chips to munch on and on the way home stopped in at cheap as chips and i brought some more paintbrushes....zoe uses mine and soesnt washe them,,,hence i need to cut the ends of and have another go LOL....i also picked up a couple of 8x8 albums for 3 bucks each......they had some nice 12x12 ones, including some Ford ones but i put them back...im trying to be good and save money!!

Was chatting to daz today about the water situation aand we think we might put our speedboat up for sale. We dont have the time to use it....we have paid for it and the insurance and regos are killing us......we will keep the tinny as we can go down the creeks in that.....thats if there is any water left but seriously if we can maybe sell to someone in Adelaide or on the coast we should make our money back and we can pay some off either the house loan or ute one....

Saturday i spent alot of the day in my scrap room just pottering about.......i think im getting bored of scrapping......*shock horror*
Today i pottered about the house, scanned in some pics from our Qld trip back in may 06 and i want to play with them in Adobe......just have to work out how to *punch* out the colours....Beck can you help me hun??

Oh Daz and i had a nanna nap for about 2.5hrs yesterday.....i think it was a hang over from not being able to sleep the night before wondering if these kids were going to come over and do anything....i would not put it past the exfriend at all....he walked to our house the night of the party to cause trouble....

Im now worried about the kids while we asre at work through the holidays...as leigh is 14 he is able to stay home and so does Zoe being 12....ive told them to play out the back witht the gates shut and if these kids come into the yard...then they are in the wrong (and do what i dont know) but lets hope they stay away......might have to send them to some friends some days to play!!

id better go now and get some tea ready back to work tommorrow......could have done with a bit more time off but oh well be grateful for this......hoping to get to Victor Harbour at the end of Oct fingers crossed....:)

Yay its been raining this morning!!!!

Although i think that it is all gone now but to prove it was raining i took a photo of the only sad sorry looking rose in my garden.

I am also posting the pigeon pic from the last post and a pic of our table tennis table after it got blown over by the wind...look how close it landed to my back door.....as i think i said in my last post we can claim it if we want to but we are wondering if it is really worth it,,,,,its only a basic excess of 100 dollars but we lose 10% of our no claim bonus....bit unfair because we have never made a claim before i think they shoud give you one *free* claim depending on how long you have been with them for and we have multipolicies with them too....but im not sure we probably wont even worry about it...?????

Back to the pigeon...i am guessing he has been reunited with his owner and it was a nice feeling to be able to get the bird home to him:)

Gosh i have so many typos...my laptop keys are flat (as im guessing most are) but i am having trouble with missing keys,,,im not pressing hard enough lol.

Well i have had a great week and life is treating us fine....i started work at 6.30 am on mon and tues as someone is away...mon i worked until 5 so it was a long day but i felt okay at the end of it all...not too bad considering we were up late on sat nite with leighs party and consequently i didnt get to B's online class at http://www.scraptherapy.com.au/ like i wanted to.....maybe another time.

The party was ok we did have three boys come and stir up the kids, long story, two of the girls wouldnt come back to our place they were out on the road talking to these boys, one being Leighs girlfriend, needless to say she dumped him on Monday because Darrel went to get the girls to come back and the girlfriend promptly went home cause she *had cracked the shits with darrel and leigh* ooohhhh scary....anyway Leigh has learnt a very valuable lesson here.

We spoke to him on sun night about it all to get his take on it all and he was really quite good about it all..very upset that the girls ruined his party. We talked about how helpless he felt that he wasnt able to control the situation and we kinda used it as an example of what could happen when he is older when it comes to peer group pressure with drinking drugs and driving so hopefully????????

We keep trying to tell the kids that we dont care what happens but if they need us at any time for anything they only have to ring, if they feel uncomfortable in any situation we will come and get them,,,,,you parents know the story......

I feel we are raising great kids but now i thnk is the *last chance* at it were to try to get your thoughts across to them because soon enough our wishes sont matter and we need to be able to trust that they can make the right decision at the right time,......scary stuff!!!

Umm not alot else happening i guess really....i am hanging for the long weekend....i would love to take the gang and try to have a photo shoot some where...id also like the kids to bring their cameras....leigh has a minolta or canon???? SLR that he likes to use....and zo had a digital..i am wanting to get them to have a few happy snaps of their own....

A friend has asked me if i would take some family shots of her and her family and i am willing to give that a go...not sure when though...id like to go further with my photography but i am so amatuer LOL.......

Okay at the risk of forgetting a tun of stuff i am going to add my photos and then go for a surf before i have to go to work......at 11 today until 5:)

Just a quick update as well while i am here...
Both the kids are out of their hockey grand finals....never mind...the A women and U17 men got through...im not sure if they want Leigh to play this Saturday or whether he will or not....he is having *the party* that im not really looking forward too......

I am working on sat so there wont be anything flash for this party i was thinking of loading up the back fridge with fruit drinks and other bits and pieces and order pizza in for tea and that will do them....Leigh seems to think they will entertain themselves so i may get some videos or dvds or something and they can watch them in the kids room......

our table tennis table got blown over by that crappy wind we had the other day and it has been totalled.....i rang the insurance company and we can claim for it...the excess will be $100 and we lose 10% of our no claim bonus but im not sure exactly what that means so im putting off until i ring again and ask them....

On monday zoe found a pigeon out side and brought it in...very tame...turns out it is a homing pigeon and it was let go at Marla for a race on saturday and with the strong westerlies they had on sat combined with the northerlies we had on sunday the poor thing had no hope....anyway after panicking about what to do with this bird i left messages at 2 radio stations and tried telstra to see if there was a pigeon club or something....turns out they do so i left the birds tag numbers on the machine and a lady got back to me that night....she said the owner will be contacting me shortly.....he lives in adelaide and first of all said do you know anyone who has pigeons just give the bird to them ..i said no it is obviously worht money being a racing bird and turns out one guy he knows, works with a guy i know so i rang the guy i know for this other mans number...he lives in renmark so zoe and i took the bird to him and he is going to race somewhere next week and he can give the bird back:)

The man i took it to told us some info about the man and the one in adelaide must be a good racer man cause he has his pic on the front of a pigeon magazine...also turns out this bird is imported and from good breeding LOL....so what am i going to do with a bird like this hahaha. Im just glad he can get it back...zoe of course got attatched and named it Pingu within 5 mins of falling in love with it......it was cute and yes i did get photos...shall post another day...

Hey there everyone

Hi there long time no post but isnt that the way of the world nowadays??? I dunno i sure as heck cant keep up.....i cannot believe that it is wednesday already....where did monday and tuesday go not to mention the weekend......well actually that was easy..

i worked on sat at my LSS and on sunday zoe had her hockey breakup at the bowling alley ....daz and i went into town cause we wanted to pick up a coupe of things...another of those little fld awa tbl, te wooden ones.....i picked on up for 17 bucks at golo for sitting my laptop on while watching tv. I wasnt sure size wise how they would go but it was perfect and when daz saw mine he wanted one too......i was going to get him one but i wanted his idea on it first so you should see us two oldies sitting in front of the telly with our puters,,,,,not every nite i might add LOL

actually stayed up until 10.30 last nite......we have both been so tired lately and going to bed at like 8 or 8.30 and getting up at 5.30 for the gym, hard as it was at the time but i think we were getting too much sleep.......

I have a new situation to face on the weekend of the 22nd sept and i am not too sure how to handle it.....its nothing serious.....leigh has asked for a coed party with the boys to sleep over and the girls to go home, we have said he can have 6 then if we want to go bowling or to maccas or somewhere then we have enough room in the two cars to take everyone....
I asked Leigh very calmly, how does one host a party for 7 teens,,,he reckons they are just going to *hang out*...i asked where cause there isnt really much room her apart from hisroom and the kids computer room......i mean they will be okay we have the table tennis, music, and stuff im sure they will be fine but the cruncher is there will ba a boy and his girlfriend and leighs girlfriend....we have already requested the doors stay open.....actually we had a really good cht about it all and i was quite impressed with how we all handled it.

We have decided not to go to Port Pirie for hockey...at this stage i couldnt get away from work on the friday early enough as someone else has gone away and then daz couldnt get away either...i would have gone by myself with the kids if i had too....for those of you who know me and know that i am terrified of driving (long distances) with not all the members of my family would know how big a step this was for me.......it took darrel breaking his hip and me having to drive too and in adelaide by myself to attempt to get over this fear......but i would have gone:)

Anyway so that is a good thing...not to write that to do list.........we have things to do up to our eyeballs like everyone else and sometimes i just wanna stop the wold to catch them up and then get back on again...and this has nothing to do with my hobby of scrapbooking,,,,this has actually gone by te wayside of late and the fun isnt there as much...maybe i need to have a scrap catch up or something...i dunno..:)

ummm what else has been happening,,,,oh the kids are thru to the hockey finals (one more decider match to see whether they arein the finals or not) Leighs u/15 and u17 sides have made it thru and zoes u/15 side has also made it thru.......i wont be playing any more matches this season...my muscle i pulled three weeks ago is still sore....im nursing it at the gym but it still grabs now and again....

I brought the kids some new clothes recently.....zoe decided on some leggings to wear under her new little dress,,,,looks cute and leigh got some t shirts.....i picked up a pair of $49.95 pair of jeans for $9.86...i was thinking they should fit one of us...but they come closest to daz....he wont wear them ot but i told him to keep them for the block or just around home...

Not sure what else i can share as there has been alot stuff happening but just cant remember it all...LOL

I was going to add some pics but i have nothing on the laptop yet:)

A few photos to share....

Here are afew pics of what we have been up to lately. The first two is leigh and his two of his youngest cousins playing at the block.....the next is me and two neices...the shadow is in a bad spot but oh well cant help that LOL....

The next three are layouts i have done recently.......you know the trouble about printing 200 pics off at once is that you get so sick of looking at them......any one else find this,....i also like to use one pic per page and even if i plan more than one 10 to 1 i forget to use the others anyway...somehow i need to get more organised.....

Now im my last post i made a mistake....i know that no one else knows or cares but i do....hence the correction...we have been to the hockey championships at Port Lincoln and Berri, NOT Mount Gambier as i said...this was beacause Daz broke his hip and we didnt want to travel so this year it is at Port Pirie as i said but i dont know if we are going or not yet...

Happy Birthday to my honey Daz, he has caught up to me now and is finally 39 heehee.....we had rather a nasty start to the day,,,,we were travelling into the gym at quarter to 6 this morning and unfortunatley we hit a kangaroo....im glad it wasnt in my little daewoo as it may not have made it home but bad luck for the kanga that it was the toyota ute...:(

We felt really sad for it because it is only coming in for the water,,,i have seen quite a few rather close to home lately and the other day i saw an emu running thru the block at the end of my street......

Well this is a quick post as i should be doing other stuff.....have to get the man a pressie, drop zoes hbike helmet off at school, leighs hockey bag to grans and run a few errands as well....i would love to stay home today...i am thinking of seeing if Daz can take next tues off so we can get stuck into jobs around the house,,,he has spent alot of time at the block lately and they house and yard are beginning to look like no one lives here......i also want to organise getting a huge tankstand pulled down.....so we can put up a shed and we also want to build an entertaining area outside with bbq and the like....not sure when that will happen LOL

Happy Birthday our sweet boy!

Happy birthday to the Matt man for tommorrow the 26th August. Our baby will be 14 years old. Where does the time go and i must ask where do they find that thing called *attitude*,,,grrr.

Seriously he is a very good honest and caring boy who we are very proud of but some days we could really give him away.....LOL. Im just not coping with the selfish and demanding side of this child of mine...many people have said it is a phase and im going to try to make a point of not sweating the small stuff! WIsh me luck hey :)

I also have birthday wishes to a niece on the 27th my darling hubby on the 29th, a friend with whom we are going out to tea with on Tuesday night to celebrate all three boys birthdays he has his also on the 29th.
I have another niece on the 31st august and then the one who was on the 27th her sister also has a birthday.......so there will be two 14 year olds a 11 year old and a 13 year old...HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIDS.......LUV YAS ALL

Today we had an awesome day at hockey, the weather was absolutley stunning and we had a fab time.....Leigh shot a goal in the u17s...he played u15s as well and zoe played u13 and u15.
I played B women and had a good game...i played centre and inner...not sure what i was supposed to be doing but i had fun,.....until i pulled a hammy....LOL well the muscle in your butt hat goes down your leg is that hammy????? I was running and it pulled something bad,,,,,so i sit here with the deep heat (OUCH) on it and i happen to be munching on licorice allsorts (YUMMY)

So i guess thats an okay trade off haha.
The kids are in leighs room playing xbox. A friend of leighs loaned him his as leighs is broken at the moment. Im guessing at some stage we will pay the 250 bucks to fix it...it will be cheaper than buying a PS2 when you take into account the buying of new games...does anyone know if you an play xbox games on a ps2??

We have been quite busy ltely what with one thing and another. We did some irrigation at the block on the weekend......daz and zoe have been plugging away with it all this week and there isnt a lot left to do now,,,,YAY

I worked at my LSS last weekend and had the chance to see a cricut in action, as well as a book binding thingo...sorry...i cannot remember what it was called but i want to buy the cutter one and the binder maker......i was quite impressed with the cricut but i kept seeing in my mind my embroidery sewing machine that just sits in my scrap room......im thinking thats how the cricut would end up...it was very interesting and i was very impressed with it...but i doubt i will buy one....

On to other news......i have not been doing alot of blogging due to early nights and the excuse that it takes forever to surf but i have some congrats to hand out......Janine congrats on your little sweetie Kaitlyn, Steph and to you on the birth of (Lulu) and to Nic who is expecting another precious bub congrats to you as well.......

My Mattman is off to Adelaide on Monday for a Hockey tournament through the school....none of us is going with him so we hope he has a fun day,,,,,,

He has expressed interest in going to Port Pirie for the State Juniour Chapionships on the Oct Long weekend. We went to Mt Gambier a few years ago then it was held locally and last year we didnt go as Daz brke his hip and we didnt think he could manage the trip.

This year we had decided to go to visit a friend at Crystal Brook so we may be able to kill two birds with one stone.......we had planned to go to Victor Harbour later in Oct so im not sure what we will actually do...maybe say bugger it and do both....i hope so anyway:) It will be nice to get away before our season stars......

Work is good for both of us and it is keeping us busy....sometimes i wish the world would stop just for a while so i can breathe,,,,,,but i know i am not the only one who feels this..........
i dont know we have all these things to help make our life easy but im sure that it doesnt always work that way....

Well im sure i have forgotten heaps of stuff to share with you but thems the breaks hey.....i always think i should jot down things as we go but im not that organised...and even if i was i would probably forget where i put it anyway.......

few delayed layouts to share

I am uploading these layouts but a few of them are actually a couple of months old.....ive had them sitting in my scrap room, i needed to get some more album pages and besides not having the time to photo or scan the LO i ahve just let them go.

Ihave applied for a DT position so i decided i had better post some of my work here,,,,,i tend not to add too many lo pics......Hope you enjoye them......i am also hoping that at least one person is kind enough to leave a comment, im feeling quite neglected lately......although i realise it does take time to leave a comment on peoples blogs.....anyways have a great thursday......
